The Massaciuccoli lake with its 2000 sq meters of wetlands is part of a Regional Park and is a LIPU (Italian League for Protection of Birds) natural oasis housing hundreds of bird species. The Massaciuccoli hamlet , founded by the Romans, is one of the two settlements on the lake featuring an important archaeological area and the ruins of a Villa dating back to the 2nd century AD.
Starting from the wooden walkways in the wetland, we will hike the hill behind Massaciuccoli from where we will enjoy panoramic views and the warm sunset colors over the roman ruins and the lake.
We will enjoy a delicious aperitif with local wines set in a gorgeous farm featuring olive groves and vineyards, before coming back to the departure point.
