Elena Pierotti

Company Owner & CEO

About me
Since I was a teenager my parents dreamed of my future as a bank clerk with a saf job and a permanent salary, but that did not work out for me. They had to give up to my choice of studying foreign languages instead of economics and saw me taking the path of tourism.
After travelling across Europe, I spent more than a decade within the hotel industry, inbound Tour operator companies and guiding foreign groups. These three types of experience have resulted to be strategic for my next steps in the travel business, where good negotiation skills, organizational capability and the attitude towards people are at the base of any action.
My Job
In 1996, even though I was a young mother of two little sons (and a cat & dog), I decided to go after the big challenge of my life and founded Versiliana Viaggi.
I conceived my company as “home”, relentlessly striving to maintain it on a human scale and focusing on building a team of close-knit skilful people committed to quality work, rather than quantity.
I handle my job with energy and enthusiasm, driven by an irresistible attraction for new challenges.
My passions
I’m passionate of Jazz music and good kitchen (eating more than cooking!) and I enjoy spending my free time on long walks together with Jazz and Giahr, my two lovable dogs.
Distinctive signs
Like every true Tuscan, I don’t disregard a good dose of daily humor seasoned with a touch of self-irony.
Preferred quote
“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.” – Helen Keller

Fernando Landucci

Purchase & Vespa Manager
ABOUT ME
I’m Fernando, Elena’s husband and the only man in the company. Lucky me you may think!
MY JOB
My role is monitoring purchases and office technologies.
In 2011 I set off a Vespa scooter department within the company, which I’m passionately managing since then.
In the office I’m surrounded by unpredictable volcanic women, and when it becomes too much for me I suddenly happen to have to deliver a Vespa somewhere…
MY PASSIONS
I travelled a lot especially to Middle and Far West countries, as well as Indonesian Isles.
I’m passionate about kitchen, skiing, music and fond of my Gibson Les Paul Deluxe electric guitar from the 80s, which I cannot resist to play nearly every evening.
I do not miss any occasion for the ritual Friday’s Aperitif with my best friends inflamed by politic talks, nor to enjoy winter breaks on ski pistes with my son Alessandro.
Besides the mountainous chains of Northern Italy, Tuscany too has a hidden wealth of Ski resorts. Did you know that?

Active & Outdoor Department

About me
Unweary traveller, I’m deeply affectionate to my land – Lunigiana, and dedicated to promote responsible tourism as mean of self-growth as well as sustainable development of a destination.
To me every day is a new adventure, starting from my home place. In fact, travelling the world I’ve learnt that you don’t need to look far as often the most surprisingly discoveries are at your doorstep.
My job
During 8 years in the tourism and travel industry both nationwide and abroad, I’ve gained deep knowledge of hospitality, tour organisation and destination marketing. My role at Versiliana Viaggi is to boast the responsible and outdoor travel to untrodden regions of Tuscany and beyond, drawing people to discover secret places and experiences, just as I love doing when I travel myself.
My passions
Have I said travelling yet? 🙂 Reading from thriller to historical books, cooking (and eating) both traditional Italian and ethnic food, bellydancing.
Distinctive signs
Contagious smile, endless energy and curiosity for different cultures and traditions.
Preferred quote
“Travel far enough, you meet yourself” – David Mitchell

ABOUT ME
When at the university I decided to study foreign languages, I thought I was going to become a teacher. I happened to work in tourism by chance just to make some petty cash during the summer months while practising spoken languages (german in particular).  That’s when I fell in love with it and never quit it since then.
MY JOB
I’ve been working at Versiliana Viaggi for 15 years. My role within the company started with the booking management, which led me to constantly deepen the knowledge of my Homeland. Today, I’m responsible of the booking department, including accommodation, transfers, tailor made itineraries and tours for individuals and groups.
Three qualities a good travel agent needs: keep learning, customers trust your deep knowledge of the territory; never loose your smile, there is always a good reason to smile when you are selling holidays; know how to listen in order to better assist your client.
MY PASSIONS
Good food, and I’m pretty lucky to live in Tuscany where there are plenty of food temptations.
Love jogging, especially by the sea. I’m a passionate novel reader, as I think reading novels allows you to watch the world with different eyes, a kind of travel without moving.

ABOUT ME
In 1997 Versiliana Viaggi was my first job, and still here I am! After so many years I really do feel the company as my home.
MY JOB
My role is today accountancy manager, but over the years I’ve developed a deep knowledge of every branch of the company. Good news is that I can back up for any extraordinary need of the company. Bad news is that I have to back up for any extraordinary need of the company 🙂 But in the end this is exactly why I like my job, being alive and not boring.
MY PASSIONS
I’m passionate about bricolage, cooking, gym and my little Lillo, a 15 years old dachshund, my best mate ever.
